Vascular surgery

Vascular surgery has become a specialism in recent years and the number and complexity of vascular surgery procedures is increasing. Advances in diagnosis and intervention, as well as technological developments, has meant that the demand for vascular services is growing rapidly.

In addition, our ageing population, as well as an increase in the prevalence of diabetes, has increased demand on vascular services right across the NHS.

How insourcing can support your hospital’s vascular department

Vascular disease can cause a whole range of life affecting conditions and without early intervention, quality of life for the patient can be severely affected. Which is why it’s essential to see patients quickly and reduce waiting list times.

If you contracted vascular specialists from 18 Week Support to work within your NHS Trust, our specialist vascular team would work weekends in your vascular department to help you meet the rising demand for vascular services, help you reduce RTT waiting times and ensure your waiting list backlog is cleared.

Our vascular team would perform a number of arterial procedures, as well as a range of venous interventions for varicose veins and complex deep vein thrombosis. In addition, as well as working as part of your own vascular team, we also work as part of your multidisciplinary team too, working with rehabilitation medicine specialists, podiatrists, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists.
