18 Week Support, in the partnership with Medway NHS Foundation Trust and Care UK, has been recognised as finalists for the Local Covid-19 Response Partnership Award presented at the HSJ Partnership Award 2021 ceremony in London on 29th June 2021.
This award celebrates the creation of an innovative solution for re-establishing Diagnostic Endoscopy during Covid-19 for patients with Suspected Cancer in response to the pandemic.
Following one of the most challenging years in the healthcare sector, this effective collaboration has contributed as part of the national effort to combat Covid-19 and has been achieved through a unique, innovative partnership model. Not only it has delivered a ‘green’ care pathway in just three weeks but also removed the 2WW endoscopy backlog and developed safety protocols while all resulted in zero Covid-19 transmissions.
Following the partnership’s success, 18 Week Support has shared its learnings in two COVID-19 Elective Care Recovery webinars, which were attended by representatives of over 100 Trusts. During the second wave, 18 Week Support was called upon again by Medway NHSFT to drive booking efficiency and support the national effort.
We would like to thank everyone at the 18 Week support for their hard work, Health Service Journal for organising the awards and also we would like to congratulate other finalists and the winners of the HSJ Partnership Awards 2021. The full list of winners and finalists can be found here.
